CASTLETOWN, OMAGH, COUNTY TYRONE BT78 5QY, NORTHERN IRELAND, TEL +44 (0)28 8224 3292
A typical emigrant dockside. Here you can board the Brig Union, a reconstruction of an early 19th century sailing ship which carried emigrants to the New World. The dockside buildings, still retaining their original features, have been moved in brick by brick and rebuilt.
Ship and Dockside Gallery
A dockside building from Great Georges Street in Belfast has been furnished as a Merchant's Office and an 18th Century house from Bridge Street in Derry represents the type of boarding house accommodation in which many emigrants would have stayed prior to setting sail for the New World. The other building is from the port of Newry and is typical of a 19th century dockside warehouse.
